This BLOG

On September 9 of 2020, I published my first BLOG article, so I think it is time to review the results of two-and-a-half years of articles.  I hope you will be part of that review.  I’m pleased to see that I have any readers, at all.  I remember when I began writing, one of my artist mentors told me that, even if I never have any non-family readers, I would have a memoir for my children and grandchildren.  So, I started writing and kept writing.  And, I’ve always chosen each week’s topic, with a few exceptions.  This BLOG, for example.  Daughter #3 suggested that I ask my readers if I’m hitting the mark.  The mark being that it is my hope that the readers feel like they are sitting around a table, having a drink of their preference, and just talking.  I’m thinking that I write like I talk – so this is me, talking.

I’ve written about my family, my activities and that of others, civic happenings, national happenings, feelings – to name a few topics.  I’ll appreciate your thoughts.  First, I hope you will tell you why you read the BLOG.  I know why my family reads the BLOG.  You may even want to tell me where you live.  I promise not to disclose any confidential information to anyone.  If you don’t want to make your suggestions as part of the comments to this article, write to my e-mail address – marj@marjbecker.com

I’ve gained two years; I’m now 84 years old.  In July, I’ll be 85.  I think writing the BLOG has been the most fun I’ve had since 2017 – the year that changed my entire life.

Daughter #3 also suggested that I ask you what topics you would like to have me discuss.  Remember that I promised no politics and no religious topics.  Those are much too private for my readers for me to write about them.

I love writing about my family; I’m very proud of them.  Do I write about them too much?  I’m old, you know, and have lived a varied and checkered life.  I have tons and tons of things I want to say running around in my head.  But, I’d also like to hear from you with things you would like to hear about.  I think that, given a topic, I can write – at least, I’d like to think that I can.

If you respond, tell me something about yourself.  Where do you live?  Do you work away from home?  What are your hobbies?  Your pleasures?  Travel hopes?
